Craft Classes at the Hill Jock House

The “Old Chelmsford” Garrison House is offering craft classes for those who would like to learn, or learn more about, a creative craft.  Classes will be held at the Hill Jock House on the Garrison House grounds.  Below is the information about the classes and the sign-up information.


Embroidery 101 - Have you ever painted with thread? October 16th and 23rd  2 – 4 P.M.

Bring your imagination and see how the cloth becomes canvas and the floss the brush!  Learn your way into decorating your clothes and make unique gifts that are personal and pleasing - simple touches can add a lot of WOW!  Grab your mom, your sister, brother or friend, crafting is best when you share the experience (and get a discounted price). Class size limited to 10 students, ages 10 and up. Fee is $35.00 or $60.00 for two people applying together.  Supplies included.


Bobbin Lace – October 16, 2016    1 – 5 P.M.  Come and spend an afternoon learning the very new and very old art of bobbin lace. Join Linda Prescott as she shares the interesting story of bobbin lace while you create a "Bookworm", a modern bookmark. Don't let the words bobbin lace intimidate you, come join this low stress beginners class.   Class size will be limited to 5 students, ages 12 years and above.  For those interested in continuing this craft, classes will continue.  Fee is $25.00 and includes supplies.


Quilling – October 23rd      2 – 4 P.M.

Come learn the art of folding strips of paper into beautiful designs, even newspaper.  You can make beautiful sun catchers and ornaments with quilled designs. Supplies are included.  Class size limited to 6 students, age 10 and up. Fee is $30.00 and includes supplies.


Temari Ball - October 23rd   2 - 4 P.M.

Learn how to make a temari ball - temari is the art of Japanese thread balls.  For students age 10 and up.  Some needle experience is needed.  Fee is $25.00 and includes supplies.


Stitch and Itch

Drop in and finish that unfinished project!  Come along with your current sewing, crochet, knitting, beading or other craft project and work on it/finish it off, in a fun and friendly environment.  Join us on the third Tuesday of October and November as we enjoy some good conversation and company while completing those unfinished projects.  Refreshments will be served.  Stitch and Itch begins at 7 P.M.  Cost is $8.00.


Make and Take Rotate for Kids - November 20th   2 - 4 P.M. Students will rotate through six stations creating a new winter craft at each.  Cost is $25.00 for ages 7 - 11. Crafts may include soap, felt ornaments, earring holder, winter tree, snow globes, candle holders and more.
